Auvyra

First-Time Setup

The guided setup wizard.

The first time Auvyra starts it has no accounts. Visiting /setup opens a nine-step wizard.

The steps

  1. Welcome. Enter the SETUP_TOKEN from your .env file.
  2. System check. Auvyra checks Node.js, secret encryption and your public address.
  3. Database. Auvyra confirms it can read and write. Connection details are not shown.
  4. Owner account. Your name, email and a password of at least 12 characters.
  5. Station identity. Your station's name, description and time zone. Your account is created at the end of this step.
  6. Connect AzuraCast. Enter your server and test the connection, or skip this for now.
  7. Select station. Choose the station and preferred stream.
  8. Appearance. Choose a logo and colors for your public website.
  9. Finish.

Why a setup token is required

Without one, anyone who found a freshly started server could claim it. Only someone with access to the server's configuration can read the token. Nothing about the server is shown until the token is correct.

If you stop partway

After step 5 your account exists. Sign in and go to /setup, or use the Continue setup banner on the dashboard, to pick up from step 6.

Setup only works once

Creating the owner is atomic: if two requests arrive together, exactly one succeeds. Once the wizard is finished, /setup sends you to the dashboard.

Database configuration comes first

Database credentials are configured through environment variables before the web server starts, so they never pass through a browser form. See Database Configuration.
