Auvyra

Moving a Station

Move to another server or database engine with one file.

Auvyra can pack your station into one file and bring it back on another server, or on a different database engine. Owners do this under System Settings, in Move your station.

Moving, step by step

  1. On the old server, select Export everything and keep the file.
  2. Install Auvyra on the new server, with whichever engine you want, and finish the setup wizard. This creates your owner account there.
  3. Open System Settings, select Choose a file, then Check this file. Auvyra shows what is in the file and changes nothing yet.
  4. Leave Also replace this station's name, design and settings ticked, then select Import.
  5. Connect AzuraCast again under Integrations, and set up email again.
  6. Add your team under User Management.

Listeners with an account keep their password and favorites, and images are pointed at the new address.

Good to know

  • Importing only adds. It skips anything already there, matched by its ID or its address, and never overwrites it. Running an import twice changes nothing.
  • Old links in emails. Unsubscribe links in emails you have already sent are signed with ENCRYPTION_KEY. Copy that value from the old .env to the new one to keep them working.
  • Very large stations. One file holds up to 350 MB of images. Auvyra tells you how many were left out, and you can copy those from your old uploads folder. See Backups and Restore.
  • Reverse proxies. A proxy may limit upload size. Raise that limit for /api/system/import if an import stops early.
  • Older exports. Files from before this feature still import, but they only ever held your content and design.

The Site Builder has its own Export and Import for moving just a design. See Site Builder.
