Auvyra

Email and Newsletters

Connect your mail server and write to your subscribers.

Auvyra sends email through a mail server you already have, using SMTP. Any provider that gives you SMTP details works. It does not include a mail server of its own.

Connecting your mail server

Open Integrations, fill in Email with the details from your provider, then select Save email settings and Send a test email to me.

SettingWhat to enter
Mail server and PortFrom your provider. Usually port 587 with STARTTLS, or 465 with TLS
SecurityNone is only for a mail relay on your own private network
Username and PasswordLeave both empty if your server needs no sign-in
From name and From addressWho your emails come from. Use an address your provider lets you send from
Most emails per minuteCheck your provider's limit. Sending is paced to stay under it

Your password is encrypted before it is stored, and never reaches the browser again. To change it, type a new one. Leaving the box empty keeps the saved password.

APP_URL must be your public address, because every link in an email is built from it.

What email turns on

  • Newsletters, below
  • Confirmed sign-ups: new subscribers must confirm their address, so nobody can sign up someone else
  • Listener accounts: confirming an address and resetting a forgotten password
  • Alerts for your team

Sending a newsletter

  1. Open Newsletter and select New newsletter.
  2. Write it, then select Save draft.
  3. Select Send a test to me to see how it looks in your inbox.
  4. Select Send to subscribers, and confirm.

Only confirmed subscribers receive it, and it goes out in the background, so you can close the page. The list shows how many have gone and how many are left. Once it has been sent, a newsletter can no longer be edited. Deleting one while it is sending stops the rest.

If something goes wrong

If your mail server is down, or refuses the password, everything waits and sending picks up by itself once the problem clears, including after a restart. An email that fails on its own, such as a bad address, is tried three times and then counted as failed. Nobody receives the same newsletter twice.

Unsubscribing

Every newsletter has an unsubscribe link, and a header that lets mail apps show their own button. Leaving deletes the person's address straight away.
