The live player
A player bar stays at the bottom of every page, and playback continues as visitors move around your site. It shows the current track, artwork, live DJ and a volume control that is remembered between visits. On your homepage and Listen page, it steps aside while their own controls are on screen. Stopping disconnects from the stream, so pressing play rejoins the live broadcast rather than resuming behind it. If a stream drops, the player reconnects by itself. You can make the bar a small one in the corner under Design in the Site Builder.
Audio bars
The bars at the top of your pages follow the music on computers, as long as your stream allows it. AzuraCast does this by default. Otherwise they run a looping animation while you are on air, and the audio plays normally. See Stream Configuration.
Phones always show the looping animation, because live analysis can stop playback when the screen locks. So does anyone who has asked their device to reduce motion, and those visitors' bars stay still.
The player needs a connected AzuraCast station. Without one, the rest of the site still works. See Stream Configuration.
Search engines and sharing
Your homepage tells search engines it is a radio station, using your name, description, logo and social links. News posts, articles and events describe themselves to search engines in the same way.
News posts and articles show a reading time, buttons to share on X, Facebook and WhatsApp, links to the posts either side, and more on the same topic.
What stays private
Drafts, future-dated content, unpublished events and inactive presenters are hidden, and their addresses answer with a 404. Competition entrants' email addresses are never shown. Playlist names, your AzuraCast address and your API key are never sent to visitors. The listener count stays hidden unless you turn it on in the Site Builder.
Search engines
Your site publishes /sitemap.xml and /robots.txt. Set APP_URL to your real address so the sitemap links are correct.
More than one station
The public website always shows your first station.
